Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PasteJet (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all versions of PasteJet, including the standalone version available from our website and the version distributed through Setapp.

App Versions

PasteJet is available in multiple versions:

• Standalone Version: Available for download directly from our website (pastejet.app). This version includes all features, including the optional Ask AI feature powered by OpenAI. Licensing is managed through license tokens provided at download or purchase.
• Setapp Version: Available through the Setapp subscription service. This version includes all core clipboard management features but does not include the Ask AI feature. Access is managed through your Setapp subscription.

Feature availability may vary between versions. We reserve the right to modify the features included in each version at any time.

License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on macOS devices that you own or control, for personal or commercial use.

For the standalone version, your license is governed by the license token provided to you at download (free trial) or purchase (paid license). For the Setapp version, your access is governed by your Setapp subscription agreement in addition to these Terms.

Usage Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App.
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App.
• Redistribute, sublicense, lease, rent, or lend the App to any third party.
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the App.
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Share, transfer, or distribute your license token to any other person or device beyond what is permitted by your license type.

Ask AI Feature (Standalone Version Only)

The standalone version of PasteJet includes an optional Ask AI feature powered by OpenAI. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Your selected clipboard content will be sent to OpenAI's servers for processing.
• OpenAI's use of your data is governed by their own terms of service and privacy policy.
• AI-generated responses may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI output before relying on it.
• We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or consequences of AI-generated responses.
• You should not send sensitive personal information, passwords, financial data, or other confidential material through the Ask AI feature.

Intellectual Property

The App, including all content, features, functionality, design, code, graphics, and trademarks, is owned by PasteJet and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand features. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

Payments and Refunds

Standalone Version: PasteJet offers a free trial with a 30-day license. The full version is available as a one-time purchase. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the App, please contact us and we will work with you to resolve it.

Setapp Version: Payment and subscription management for the Setapp version is handled entirely by Setapp. Please refer to Setapp's terms and conditions for information on billing, cancellation, and refunds.

Disclaimers

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the App at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall PasteJet, its developers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license to use the App at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete all copies from your devices.

You may terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it. For the standalone version, uninstalling removes all associated data. For the Setapp version, you may also need to manage your subscription through Setapp.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
